Speaking on how to buy a JPEG image for $1 worth of Bitcoin - [Bitcoin Forum, January 29th, 2010](https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25.msg173#msg173)

***

\
Thirteen years after Satoshi himself helped facilitate the first sale of a JPEG image for Bitcoin, OrdinalsBot launched in February 2023. Just one month after the launch of Ordinals on Bitcoin, OrdinalsBot pioneered inscription as a service and finally fulfilled Satoshi’s vision of the best way to collect and trade art on Bitcoin. But OrdinalsBot did not stop there.

While OrdinalsBot began by empowering collectors, artists, communities, founders, builders, and innovators to easily mint Ordinals, ‘inscriptions as a service’ is just a small part of the complete set of solutions provided today, and those available in the future.

Since its creation, OrdinalsBot has served more than 110k wallets and powered some of the largest and most renowned mints in Bitcoin’s history, including Runestones, Bitcoin Punks, and ORDI, the first BRC20 token to reach a $1bn market cap.\
\
Today that track record of innovation continues with the launch of the world’s first utility-driven BRC20 token TRIO - deriving its name from the trio of product-lines OrdinalsBot offers:

1. Inscription minting, launchpad, and consumer services
2. API for enterprises
3. Marketplace for inscription and Ordinals trading

With the impending launch of Runes, we will also be providing our token holders with access to our Runes drop, so we will be innovators in both BRC 20 and Runes.

## Highlights

* **TRIO** is the world's first utility-driven BRC-20 token, designed to align incentives and drive ecosystem growth within the OrdinalsBot platform.
* Backed by top-tier investors such as **DACM**, **Eden Block**, **Kestrel0x1**, and **UTXO Management**, OrdinalsBot has raised over $4.5M in funding.
* OrdinalsBot has a proven track record of innovation, having inscribed some of the largest known images on a Bitcoin block, inscribed work for high-profile launches like **French Montana's Mac & Cheese 5** and **Wu-Tang Clan** rapper **Ghostface Killah**’s recent ordinals drop, and served as the inscription platform for ORDI, the first billion-dollar market cap BRC-20 token.
* Strong partnerships with leading industry players, such as BRC-20 creator Domo and **Marathon Digital Holdings**, position OrdinalsBot at the forefront of Bitcoin's evolving ecosystem.
* Comprehensive product suite includes seamless Ordinals and BRC-20 creation tools, powerful APIs, the Scribe protocol for uncensorable on-chain publishing, and an upcoming marketplace for seamless trading of tokens.

## Our Vision

OrdinalsBot is building essential infrastructure for the Bitcoin ecosystem, unleashed by Ordinals and fungible inscription standards such as BRC-20 and Runes. By providing the tools and infrastructure required to inscribe data, media, and complex digital assets directly onto individual satoshis, OrdinalsBot is transforming Bitcoin into a thriving ecosystem of decentralized applications and immutable on-chain records.

The official utility token of OrdinalsBot, TRIO, is designed to supercharge the platform's tools and services. Holders can use TRIO for a discount on fees, earn staking-like rewards, get rewarded for platform engagement and contributions, and participate in governance. The TRIO token aligns incentives between the platform and community, driving demand and encouraging long-term holding.

We envision a future where Bitcoin's full potential is realized through the seamless integration of data, media, and complex digital assets. By providing the critical infrastructure and tools needed to inscribe, manage, and trade these assets, we aim to accelerate Bitcoin's transformation into a robust, decentralized ecosystem that empowers creators, collectors, and innovators alike.

Our mission is to lower the barriers to entry for individuals and businesses looking to leverage Bitcoin's unique properties, such as immutability, security, and decentralization. Through our suite of user-friendly tools, powerful APIs, and strategic partnerships, we are committed to driving the widespread adoption of Bitcoin-based digital assets and fostering a vibrant community of developers, artists, and entrepreneurs.

# Overview

OrdinalsBot provides collectors, enterprises, and traders with a suite of products. While pricing differs between products, all product fees paid to OrdinalsBot can be paid in TRIO tokens for a 20% discount on all service fees.

\
This section discusses each product offering.

# Inscriptions

As OrdinalBot’s original flagship product, the platform makes inscribing images, text, and more to live forever on Bitcoin as simple as uploading a file and signing a Bitcoin transaction from the supported wallet of your choice.\
\
Whether you’re a personal collector, artist, or project, you can mint Ord-based inscriptions and direct inscriptions. This includes complex parent-child relationships and ordered collections which ensure each item in a collection is ordered such that they have sequential IDs.\
\
Direct inscriptions reduce fees by removing the need for separate payment and commit transactions, and the platform’s payment infrastructure supports payment via Lighting, credit card, BTC, or other tokens to deliver inscriptions in the most convenient way.\
\
Inscriptions are supported, or planned to be supported, on the following chains:

* Bitcoin (L1)
* Litecoin
* Dogecoin
* Coordinate

# API

We are an API first company, our feature rich API is used by many builders in the Bitcoin space to create a wide variety of apps and services.

* Premium analytics and collection management tools
* Marketplace API which powers marketplaces and launchpads for Ordinals, BRC20s, rare sats, and more
* Indexing of complex relationships such as parent-child hierarchies, enabling creators to craft more powerful user experiences, stories, and use cases

Token holders can also get a 20% discount on our API for payment with token.
# Launchpad

While OrdinalsBot has always allowed individual users to easily create their own inscriptions, it has also become the preeminent location for artists, founders, and communities to launch their projects and collections. Notable examples that used the launchpad include Bitcoin Punks and ORDI, the first BRC20 token to reach a $1bn market cap.\
\
Beyond providing a simple PSBT launchpad and BRC20 launchpad, OrdinalsBot provides a number of features for deeply customizing launches.

Projects can customize every aspect of how their token is minted, including whitelists, min and max mints per address, safely allocating portions of the mint to a treasury, and more.
# Inscription on demand

Inscription on demand mints also known as "Lazy mints", allow artists and creators to launch their Ordinals collection with a user experience like NFT mints on smart contract-compatible chains, revealing NFTs one by one as users mint them.

# Token Gated Mints

With token gating, projects can require users to hold a required balance of a given BRC20 token in order to be eligible to mint the collection.

# Mint Front-Running Protection

There’s nothing worse for a founder or project than a bot front-running your transaction to steal your ticker of choice before you can reserve it, or to grab a large portion of your token supply before real users have a chance to mint.

In the future, through an exclusive partnership with a major Bitcoin miner, OrdinalsBot will support front-running protection, ensuring that bots do not see your mint transaction until it is too late to front-run.

*Pricing to be determined.*

# Fungible Tokens

One of the most powerful use cases for inscriptions is the ability to create fungible tokens of various standards, such as BRC20.\
\
OrdinalsBot provides a variety of features and infrastructure rails as a service in order to support fungible token communities including minting, token gating, vesting, and payment processing.\
\
OrdinalsBot supports minting tokens from the following fungible token standards:

* BRC20
* Tap Protocot
* CBRC20 (Coming soon)
* Runes (Coming soon)
* ARC20 (Coming soon)

Just as with minting any Ordinal, OridnalsBot makes it simple for creators, founders, projects, and communities to launch a fungible token successfully. Additional related services for token mints and launches are provided, as covered in the Launchpad product section below. Pricing is the same for all fungible tokens.\
\
This at the time of the writing of the white paper, is a 2000 Sats fee, and becomes 1600 Sats when paying in TRIO tokens, because of the **20% discount**.
# Token Gating

OrdinalsBot will provide “Token Gating as a Service” by historically tracking BRC20 token movements, allowing for projects to gate their app, website, Discord, token mint, and more, based on users meeting a required threshold of token holdings.\
\
With these services, teams do not need to manage complex infrastructure or indexing logic on their own and can track and reward community loyalty with exclusive access.\
\
The pricing for this is yet to be determined but will receive a 20% discount for token holders.

# Vesting

OrdinalsBot will provide “Token Vesting as a Service”, a treasury app that allows projects to enable their teams, community, advisors, and investors to claim their tokens over time according to their specified vesting logic. The success of businesses like Carta distributing shares, could mean owning this part of the token economy, could be very valuable.\
\
This service enables more complex token emission, unlock, and vesting logic than is possible without smart contracts, ensuring projects can easily meet best practices without needing to spend developer resources building complex workarounds or requiring users to bridge to smart-contract compatible L2s.

*The pricing for this is yet to be determined but will receive a 20% discount for token holders.*
# Payment Processing

OrdinalsBot has pioneered inscriptions as a service, allowing both Bitcoin and Lightning payments since it launched. This will soon be taken to the next level by enabling fungible token payments via a new payment processing service. This service will allow any project to accept payment on any supported fungible token standard on Bitcoin, offering payment rails and evolving into “Stripe for Ordinals fungible tokens."\
\
*The pricing for this is yet to be determined but there will be a 20% discount for token holders.*

# Trading

OrdinalsBot is not only the preliminary place for creating and minting Ordinals, but also expects to become the preliminary marketplace for swapping and trading both fungible and non-fungible inscriptions and Ordinals.

In addition to providing a BRC20 trading venue, the PSBT-based marketplace supports swapping tokens across different token standards and Ordinals protocols, providing users with secondary market liquidity.\
\
*The order book style marketplace allows users to set specific execution prices, and users secure a 1% trading fee which can be paid with TRIO for a 20% discount.*

# Scribe

Scribe is OrdinalsBot’s blogging on-chain product, allowing writers and bloggers to format and inscribe text onto Bitcoin effortlessly. Articles, blogs, book chapters, and more can be easily and permanently secured via Bitcoin.

\
**Pricing for token holders**

We typically take a 9000 sats fee plus 5% of the network fee on every inscription. Paying in TRIO costs an equivalent of 7200 Sats and 4% (applying the 20% discount).

# Ord.me

Ord.me is a social network planned for Q2 2024 that enables social discovery of Bitcoin assets. Users will be able to create profiles and register their Bitcoin identity, showcase their collection, and browse other profiles.

On Ord.me, users can trade, swap, and team up to collect, curate, and collaborate on future projects. The use case for this is very much for people to showcase who they are on bitcoin on chain, and as digital identities get more widely accepted in society may even see individuals being able to prove they meet certain social criteria.

*Pricing to be determined.*
# Overview

The introduction of OrdinalBot’s BRC20 utility token, TRIO, further improves the product’s network effects, strengthening the value proposition for each core aspect of the platform.

The TRIO token aligns user incentives, streamlines fees, rewards collectors, and gives users control over the future of the OrdinalsBot platform via user governance.

This section discusses each aspect of the token, including supply, utility, and governance.

## Basic Information

| Ticker       | **TRIO**                                   |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------ |
| Total supply | **21,000,000**                             |
| Blockchain   | Bitcoin                                    |

| Details      | <https://ordiscan.com/inscription/3411618> |

TRIO is the utility token of the OrdinalsBot ecosystem, designed to align incentives, streamline fees, and reward collectors. With a fixed supply of 21,000,000 non-divisible tokens, TRIO is allocated as follows:

* 38% to the community via public sale, airdrop, and rewards
* 33.8% to team, advisors, and investors with a 19-month weighted average vesting period
* 28.2% to the treasury, with a portion controlled by community governance

TRIO tokens offer the following utility:

* Fee discounts: Pay for OrdinalsBot products and services with a 20% discount
* Governance: Participate in key decisions shaping the platform's future
* Action-based earning: Earn TRIO rewards for contributing to the community
* Hodling rewards: Earn monthly staking-like rewards for holding TRIO (TBD)

The vesting schedule and emissions are designed to balance insider and public ownership while encouraging long-term commitment to the OrdinalsBot ecosystem. As the platform evolves, TRIO may integrate with Bitcoin L2s, enabling staking, advanced governance, and more.

# Ecosystem Roles & Behaviors

As with any marketplace platform, multiple types of users interact with OrdinalsBot, each with their own preferences, motivations, and expected behaviors.

The TRIO token further strengthens OrdinalsBot’s suite of products and value proposition by mitigating adversarial behaviors, aligning incentives, and increasing network effects.

## Collectors

#### Desirable Behaviors

Rational users are expected to exhibit the following desirable behaviors:

1. Minimize the fees they pay to mint.
2. Maximize their access to exclusive or high-interest mints and token launches.
3. Trade and swap for tokens and inscriptions they believe are undervalued.
4. Bridge tokens and inscriptions to their preferred chains.

#### Adversarial Behaviors

Whether motivated by profit or griefing, these users may exhibit the following adversarial behaviors:

1. Mint a significant portion of the total supply during mint events or token launches.
2. Sybil attacks high-interest mint events or token launches.
3. Spam or grief communities.

#### Mitigants

1. OrdinalsBots’ Controlled Launch feature enables collections to whitelist minters and place effective maximums that any given address can mint.
2. Token gating based on a project’s own token or TRIO holdings acts as a Sybil-resistance mechanism, reducing abuses of high-interest mints. Collectors get a fairer launch and collections get a better distribution of ownership.
3. OrdinalBot’s Token gating services help curate the quality of community members as an anti-spam mechanism.

## Creators/Artists/Founders/Communities/Collections

#### Desirable Behaviors

Rational users are expected to exhibit the following desirable behaviors:

1. Launch their collections or tokens on the OrdinalsBot launchpad.
2. Leverage OrdinalsBot’s tools and infrastructure to optimize for a broad distribution of token ownership, avoid whales or MEV bots, and manage token vesting and payments.

#### Adversarial Behaviors

Whether motivated by profit or griefing, these users may exhibit the following adversarial behaviors:

1. Launch rug-pull or scam projects.

#### Mitigants

1. The TRIO token allows for incentive-aligned signaling and community curation of projects that launch. In the future, potential staking-weighted and/or governance-powered community curation can help prevent low-quality, scam, or rug-pull projects since token holders have an incentive to filter out these projects in the curation process.

## Bitcoin Miners

#### Desirable Behaviors

Rational users are expected to exhibit the following desirable behaviors:

1. Mine OrdinalsBot transactions in the order they are placed, without front-running or conducting other forms of MEV in return for an ongoing partnership with OrdinalsBot.

#### Adversarial Behaviors

Whether motivated by profit or griefing, these users may exhibit the following adversarial behaviors:

1. Re-arrange or front-run transactions to snipe a ticker and ransom it, mint a significant portion of a token supply, or extract other forms of MEV.

#### Mitigants

1. OrdinalsBot’s exclusive partnership with a major Bitcoin miner provides front-running protection.

# Token Lifecycle

The Token Lifecycle section covers how and when tokens can be Created, Transferred, Used, and Destroyed.

## Creating Tokens

As a BRC20 token, 100% of the supply is minted in the initial TGE. Not minting all tokens at once would allow for bots and front-runners to grab any remaining unminted portion. This does not mean 100% of supply is immediately distributed in circulation. After the minting TGE:

* 11.5% of tokens are distributed immediately at the TGE.
* The remaining tokens are distributed over 60 months following TGE.
* No TRIO tokens can be created outside the initial total supply of 21,000,000.

## Transferring Tokens

Tokens that have yet to be distributed are transferable but are held by the OrdinalsBot core team in a multi-signature wallet to be distributed per the details in the Emissions and Vesting Schedule section.

Distributed tokens can be freely transferred, with no restrictions, but doing so may forfeit any unclaimed ‘Hodling Rewards’, discussed in the Use Case and Utility section.

In the future, TRIO may integrate with one or more Bitcoin L2s to support functionality such as staking that would allow users to optionally lock up tokens, temporarily restricting their transferability.
## Using Tokens

TRIO is used to pay for various OrdinalsBot products and services with a 20% discount on all OrdinalsBot service fees. Tokens used to pay fees are partially allocated to fund future user rewards and partially retained by the treasury, pending any future governance votes on these allocations.

TRIO is used to distribute prizes and “Hodling Rewards”, as discussed in the Use Case and Utility section.

TRIO is used in governance processes to give users control over OrdinalsBot and various parameters, as discussed in the Governance section.

## Destroying Tokens

TRIO tokens may be burned by transferring them to Satoshi’s wallet in the following situations depending on input from the governance process:

* Some or all of the tokens used to pay for service fees may be burned pending future governance votes.
* Unclaimed token rewards or airdrops may be burned or used to fund future expenses or additional token rewards pending future governance votes.
* Excess Treasury tokens may be either burned or used to fund future expenses or additional future token rewards pending future governance votes.

In the future, TRIO may integrate with one or more Bitcoin L2s and may support additional functionality that might burn the token in additional situations, such as:

* Burning slashed collateral from launchpad curators.
* Burning tokens to increase chances of winning a white-list spot to an exclusive or oversubscribed mint event.
* Burning tokens to access or pay for certain features.

# Allocation

The total supply of TRIO is 21,000,000 tokens. As a BRC20 token, each token itself is 1 satoshi, the smallest possible denomination of bitcoin. TRIO tokens are thus non-divisible, the smallest possible unit of TRIO tokens is 1 token.

TRIO tokens are allocated in the following proportions:

* Team 13.5% (2,835,000)
* Advisors 1.5% (315,000)
* Private Round 1 Investors 9.6% (2,016,000)
* Private Round 2 Investors 9.2% (1,932,000)
* Treasury 28.2% (5,922,000)
  * Immediate Unlock Portion 10% (2,100,000)
  * Extended Unlock Portion 18.2% (3,822,000)
* Airdrop 6.5% (1,365,000)
* Reward Actions 25.0% (5,250,000)
* Hodling Rewards 5% (1,050,000)
* Public Sale 1.5% (315,000)

These allocations represent OrdinalsBots’ commitment to community involvement. Aggregating each bucket by category of Insiders (team, advisors, private round investors), tokens available to the Public (public sales, airdrops, or emissions), and tokens allocated to the Treasury:

* Public Access: 38.0%
* Insiders & Private Sales: 33.8%
* Treasury: 28.2%

## Treasury

The goal of the extended treasury is to drive forward the future of the TRIO and OrdinalsBot ecosystem. This in its broadest sense will see us pushing forward Ordinals and Bitcoin development to make TRIO one of the most important organizations in the ecosystem.

The OrdinalsBot core team plans to make the treasury spending process transparent to token holders and decisions can be influenced by the governance process, once governance is implemented.

TRIO tokens used to pay service fees (for a 20% discount) are allocated in the below manner, subject to any future governance votes that may change these allocations:

* 50% funding future Reward Action Emissions
* 50% retained by the treasury

OrdinalBot’s goal as a core team is to drive bitcoin development forward, and the core team believes this can be best achieved with decisions taken by the development company with the input of the community governance process.

## Private Sales

The two rounds of private sales for 18.8% of total token supply took place at an average price of $1.0132 per token.

## Public Sale

The OrdinalsBot core team offered a public sale of 1.5% of the total token supply at $1.90 per token in April 2024.

Residents from some jurisdictions may not be eligible for the public sale, and other restrictions may apply.
# Emission and Vesting Schedule

As a BRC20 token, the full supply of 21,000,000 tokens is minted at once and is not mined or released over time by a smart contract. Instead, tokens are either immediately distributed or held in a multi-sig wallet controlled by the OrdinalsBot core team and distributed according to the below emissions details. The team will release a portal for tracking all vesting emissions, which will be distributed monthly and claimable through our platform.

The following token allocations unlock immediately and have no vesting period:

* Public Sale
* Treasury, Immediate Unlock Portion

The remainder of tokens unlock, emit, or vest over time:

* Airdrop: Unlocked in three tranches, no vesting, expected at least three weeks after TGE
* Team: 33-month linear vesting, beginning 3 months after TGE (36 months total), no cliff
* Advisors: 33-month linear vesting, beginning 3 months after TGE (36 months total), no cliff
* Private Round 1 & 2 Investors: 27-month linear vesting, beginning 3 months after TGE (30 months total), no cliff
* Treasury, Extended Unlock Portion: 30-month linear vesting, beginning 30 months after TGE (60 months total), no cliff
* Reward Actions: 60-month linear emissions rate, beginning at TGE
* Hodling Rewards: 60-month constant percentage of circulating supply (linear inflation rate), beginning at TGE

ITWVD (Insider & Treasury Weighted Vesting Duration) measures the length of time for insiders and treasury tokens to vest, weighted by the portion of tokens that unlock each month. For example, a 36-month linear vesting with a 6-month cliff has a Weighted Vesting Duration of 18.9 months. The TRIO token’s ITWVD is 23.3 months, indicating insider vesting for TRIO is within industry best practices, and slightly more favorable for token holders than all insiders and treasury having a 36-month linear vesting period.

VAPA (Vesting-Adjusted Public Allocation) measures how much of the circulating supply is available to non-insiders by the time insiders have mostly vested (i.e. by the time the ITWVD has elapsed since TGE). A VAPA that is much smaller than the total public allocation indicates insiders largely vest their tokens before publicly allocated tokens are emitted. The TRIO token’s VAPA is 36.1%, roughly in line with the token’s public allocation of 38%, indicating that insiders do not disproportionately unlock or vest tokens relative to how quickly public allocations unlock or vest.

## Token Emissions Spreadsheet

For more details on the token allocations and emissions, see [this spreadsheet.](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Cm-iDkHQuwsVjbKL3s5fKXS-7EJN5Bog-MiinXt5CJk/edit?usp=sharing)

## Airdrop

The TRIO token airdrop is based on historical user activity before the snapshot taken on February 13th, 2024, and to holders of select NFT and Ordinals collections.\
\
The airdrop rewards organic users of the product and active collectors expected to be future users of the OrdinalsBot platform. Airdrop allocations have been optimized for reducing whales and achieving a wider community distribution.

The total of 6.5% of tokens allocated to the airdrop (1,365,000 tokens) breaks down as follows:

* 20 NFT & Ordinals Collections, first 100 owners to claim: 150 tokens each (300,000 tokens)
* Satoshibles, first 400 owners to claim: 125 tokens each (50,000 tokens)
* Repeat recipients of OrdinalsBot inscriptions prior to the snapshot (11,853 unique addresses) each receive an airdrop ranging from 16 tokens to 155 tokens (1,015,000 tokens)

Any airdrop rewards that remain unclaimed 12-months after claims go live will be forfeited and added into future Hodling Reward tokens.

## Hodling Rewards (“Staking”)

Due to the lack of native smart contract functionality on Bitcoin L1, Hodling Rewards are used to approximate staking rewards and are batch-distributed to eligible addresses on a monthly frequency.

For tokens to be eligible for earning monthly Hodling Rewards, they must not have moved or been transferred within the past month. In other words, only a user’s minimum balance during the past month is eligible for earning Hodling Rewards.

Each address’ share of the total monthly TRIO Hodling Rewards is based on their pro-rata share of eligible tokens of all addresses. There will be a 12-month claiming period following the release of each month’s Hodling Rewards, and any unclaimed tokens after the claim period will be forfeited and used to distribute future Hodling Rewards.

In addition to earning TRIO emissions as Hodling Rewards, eligible addresses also are randomly eligible to earn additional tokens, BRC20s, and other prizes in weekly and monthly rewards.

The OrdinalsBot team has accumulated more than 450 million Pizza sats and TRIO Hodlers will receive these tokens periodically as claims through the platform.

Rewards are randomized to ensure they are provably fair.

## Reward Actions

Due to the lack of native smart contract functionality on Bitcoin L1, Reward Actions are batch-distributed to loyal users on a monthly frequency.

As their name implies, Reward Action emissions reward users for taking certain actions within OrdinalsBot’s ecosystem of products. Each of the below actions is assigned a score, and each month when an address performs the associated action its total score increases by the corresponding value.

| Reward Action                                    | Score   |
| ------------------------------------------------ | ------- |
| Mint a Collection Item (Launchpad)               | 1       |
| Mint a Fungible Token (Launchpad)                | 1       |
| Inscribe a File                                  | 1       |
| Sell a Collection Item                           | 1       |
| Launch a Collection                              | 100     |
| Trade $100 on Trio Marketplace                   | 10      |
| List Premium Collection Item on Trio Marketplace | 10 |
| Additional actions will be added over time       | 1 - 100 |

At the end of the month, each address’s total score is calculated as the sum of the scores for every reward action they completed during the month. Each address is eligible for a pro-rata share of Reward Action tokens based on the total sum of scores across all active addresses for that given month.

Each month is a standalone event, meaning address scores reset to 0 for the next month.

The scores for each reward action, including adding or removing actions from the list of rewarded actions, can be updated by a governance vote.

# Uses Cases and Utility

The TRIO token has several current use cases, and may or may not support additional utility in the future. The OrdinalsBot team makes no guarantees or promises about any future utility.

## Current Utility

* Pay with TRIO to access a 20% discount on all service fees paid to OridinalsBot.
* Hodl TRIO to earn Hodling Rewards and random prizes such as Pizza sats.
* Vote with TRIO to participate in the community governance process.

## Possible Future Utility

Additional utility may become viable to support in the future, especially if the TRIO token adds support for one or more Bitcoin L2s, where the token can be used in more complex and generalized smart contract logic.

For the avoidance of doubt, none of the use cases listed below are currently supported, and the OrdinalsBot team makes no guarantees or promises about any future utility.

* As a collector, hold TRIO to get priority access to high-profile mints, oversubscribed token launches, and exclusive allow lists and whitelist slots.
* As a collection or artist, hold TRIO to get your collection featured higher in listings.
* As a collector, vote with TRIO to get your favorite collection featured in listings.
* As a collector, stake tokens to curate which collections can launch on the launchpad. Curators who support a project are eligible to earn whitelist slots, but if the project rug-pulls, the curator’s stake may be slashed.
* As a collector, stake, spend, or burn tokens to reserve whitelist slots or earn raffle tickets for a chance to win whitelist slots.
* As a user, burn or spend tokens to access future features or products, such as registering an Ord.me Bitcoin identity or creating a profile.

# Governance

The TRIO token enables holders to participate in community governance, providing valuable signaling of user preferences to the OrdinalsBot team and for the team to directly solicit input on key decisions. This governance process is indicative of user preferences, which the OrdinalsBot team will take into consideration, though the team itself has final decision making power.
The team and community as a whole will weigh all sensible options to further decentralize over time. Examples of matters pertinent to the governance process, which would be made with community input, include decisions such as which Bitcoin L2s to integrate with (if any), which product features or token use cases should be added, and how to allocate TRIO tokens used to pay for services. Matters of how to allocate treasury revenues earned in non-TRIO (ex. BTC or USD) are excluded from governance - for instance, TRIO holders should not anticipate non-TRIO revenue being distributed to token holders as the result of a governance vote.

The TRIO governance process follows the below process:

1. Anyone can create a governance proposal. (In the future a minimum token holding may be imposed to submit a proposal in order to limit spam, but this minimum token holding itself would be added with consideration from community governance).
2. The community is expected and encouraged to engage with proposals as they see fit, including but not limited to:
   * Providing feedback for the proposal
   * Asking clarifying questions
   * Making suggested changes, edits, or improvements
   * Proposing tests or analyses that can be done to optimize parameters
   * Voting to support for the proposal
3. Voting against the proposal (in this case, it is asked that community members clarify what changes or improvements they would like to the proposal in order to support it)

New governance proposals are recommended to use the following format.

## Governance Proposal Template

**\[Proposal Title]**\
Author(s): \[Name of author(s)]\
Date: \[Date]\
Previous Discussion: \[Link(s) to relevant discussions or posts that inspired this proposal]

**Problem**

\[1-2 short paragraphs on the problem. e.g. Why do users need this proposal? Why is the current situation suboptimal?]

**Target User**

\[1-2 sentences to identify the specific “target market” or user segment that this proposal is intended to benefit.]

#### Benefits

\[Bullet points of the key benefits this proposal would provide.]

#### Requirements / Constraints

\[Bullet point any specific requirements or constraints that need to be taken into account. e.g. a constraining budget for token emissions; a specific technological constraint.]

#### Key Concepts

\[Bullet points of key concepts involved.]

User Journey

\[Step-by-step breakdown of the user journey and experience with this new proposal. Where relevant, highlight the differences between the current user experience and the proposed user experience in each step of the journey, as well as the tradeoffs in design choices involved.]

#### Recommended Initial Parameters and Analysis \[Optional]

\[Bullet points of relevant parameters and their proposed initial values, and links to any relevant analysis or optimization performed to derive these values.]

#### Risks

\[Bullet points of the risks or vulnerabilities introduced.]

#### Relevant Links

\[Supporting links e.g. research previously done on the topic, similar products or features, diagrams, analysis, citations, etc.]
